We use LightForce 3D-printed clear brackets, which allow us to custom-craft every aspect of your smile. Utilizing state-of-the-art digital treatment planning software, Dr. Conn and Dr. Segal create a digital mockup of your treatment and planned final result (that you can see on a computer screen before you start!) and then we 3D print custom brackets that fit your unique teeth precisely.
Traditional braces aren’t what they used to be! We use Damon metal brackets, a revolutionary system that uses gentle forces to broaden your smile and create a more natural look. Damon brackets hold the wire in place with a door mechanism so you don’t need elastic ties (if you prefer) and fewer appointments are needed.
Bryn Mawr Orthodontics is in the top 1% of Invisalign providers so we are the “clear” choice to treat patients of all ages. Dr. Conn and Dr. Segal design the perfect smile for you and then use Invisalign clear plastic aligners to gently shift your teeth. Invisalign is discrete, nearly invisible, comfortable, and removable. If you’ve been told you are not a candidate for Invisalign, schedule a Free Consultation with our doctors - dentists regularly refer Dr. Conn and Dr. Segal the most complex Invisalign cases.
Most kids and teenagers are candidates for all the benefits of Invisalign treatment, which works great for a child who wants a more beautiful and confident smile, but doesn't want traditional braces. Designed for even the tiniest of smiles, Invisalign can provide your child with a positive orthodontic experience without wires and metal brackets.
If it’s being done, we do it! Our doctors are highly-trained specialists - when braces and Invisalign alone are not the most appropriate treatment options for you, here are just a few of the other techniques we may recommend:
A palate expander is an appliance placed on the roof of the mouth to expand the upper jaw to alleviate crowding, crossbites, and other issues.
A space maintainer is a fixed or removable appliance that is essential after a baby tooth is lost early. A space maintainer protects the space young patients need for their adult teeth to emerge.
A retainer is customized to keep your teeth straight and make sure your smile lasts a lifetime. Retainers can be clear or made from a variety of fun colors. We also offer a bonded retainer, which is a fixed wire hidden on the backside of your teeth.
When absolutely necessary, we partner with the area’s most accomplished oral surgeons to correct jaw abnormalities in patients. Surgery can improve your ability to chew, speak and breathe, while also delivering tremendous facial transformations. This type of collaborative treatment is only recommended after discussion with you and careful analysis of your x-rays, 3D models, and photographs.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children have a screening with an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7.
